Marko Dzigurski

Water Polo Coach/Founder 
Treasurer

Marko comes to us from Serbia. He started playing water polo at the pool where the camp is being held. After playing in his home water polo club "Becej", he transferred to "Rabotnicki Skoplje" with whom he played in the Champions League.

 
Marko is a graduate of St. Francis College in New York City where he continued his water polo career as an adult. While there, he was a member of the most successful team in college history winning three CWPA East Titles and playing in the NCAA Final Four three times with capturing 3rd place in 2012. He began coaching water polo for the St. Francis Youth Club Team and the Woman's College team as an Assistant Coach while in college.

 

He has been  a member of the USA Water Polo ODP Staff for the past 4 years, and is currently serving as an Head Coach in SEZ ODP for Cadet Boys. 


His coached , Sarasota United 16U Girls team, has won the gold in the Junior Olympics in 2021, while the 18U girls won the silver medal. 16U boys team finished in 5th place.

In 2023 at Junior Olympics Marko Polo Water Polo brought their inaugural team 18U Boys, where they finished 4th in the Platinum Division.

Samantha Cahoone

Swimming Coach/Founder
President of the Board

As a life time swimmer, Samantha brings new and exciting things to the table. She is in charge of the swimming conditioning at Marko Polo Camps. 

Samantha grew up in Sarasota, Fl swimming competitively for the Sarasota Sharks and Sarasota High School. Samantha had numerous success with each team. After High School, she attended the US Coast Guard academy in Connecticut and later transferred to the University of South Florida where she graduated from with a degree in Biology and Psychology. Samantha has a strong desire to help all children become happy, healthy, and empowered adults through academic education as well as swimming and sports. Samantha's teaching philosophies are driven by the principle that she is not simply teaching a child a specific skill but rather "teaching the whole child".

Currently working as a private tutor and swim coach with SwimSRQ in Sarasota, teaching kids how to swim and working to improve technique.

​

Petar Momcilovic

Water Polo Coach

Secretary of the Board

Petar’s coaching and playing career within water polo began in London, United Kingdom, where his family moved to when he was six years old from his native country of Serbia. Petar’s connection with Serbia, a leader in the water polo world and his passion for the sport led to significant success as a young water polo coach. In his coaching career, Petar has led club and regional teams in the UK to top three finishes on a national scale. Petar’s most notable success was in his 2017/18 season as the Head Coach of Oxford University. For the first time in the program’s 127-year history he led the Oxford Men’s team to win the Southern British University and Colleges Sports conference, finish third in the country and beat Cambridge all in one season.

 

Coach Petar is currently serving as the Associate Head Coach for the Men's and Women's College Teams at Long Island University, a NCAA Devision 1 school!

Coach Petar looks forward to joining us for summer camp and meeting you in Serbia.
